SUMMER PROGRAM 2024
Located at the Peter Twomey Youth Center,
the Summer Program provides an array of activities, field trips, and creative learning opportunities in a supportive, warm, and relaxing environment.
The program is non-profit and self-supporting, sponsored by the
Groton-Dunstable Regional School District. Daily hours are 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Registration will open on February 6th
ACTIVITIES include arts & crafts, wading pool, sports, swimming, and outdoor play. Trips to the beach are every Tuesday and Thursday, weather permitting. Your child must bring sunscreen, a swimsuit & change of clothing every day!!-SUNSCREEN MUST BE PROVIDED BY THE PARENT- the program does not provide sunscreen for your child; if your child does not have sunscreen they may be kept inside or required to remain in the shade at the beach. Breakfast is provided for children who arrive before 8:00 am. Children must bring their own lunch (no nut food products allowed). An afternoon snack is provided. Bottled water is available at all times.
FIELD TRIPS are scheduled for Wednesdays. Any child registered for Wednesdays will get a free “field trip t-shirt.” A separate permission form & fee is required and ALL students registered for Wednesdays go on the field trip. Trip locations vary from year to year. If registered for Wednesdays, you will be responsible for the cost of the FIELD TRIP even if your child does not attend that day. We must make reservations & commit to payment in advance for the field trips based on the registration numbers.
ENROLLMENT is on a first-come, first-serve basis and is open to any child in grades K through 6, as of September 2024. There is a non-refundable $30 (per family) registration fee for registrations received before June 3rd, a $45 fee for registrations received after June 10th, and a $75 fee after July 15th. The registration fee is separate from the cost of tuition.
BEFORE & AFTER CARE is available from 7:00 – 9:00 am and 4:00 – 6:00 pm. If you arrive before 9:00 am or pick up after 4:00 pm you will be charged for extra care. Before care only, $15.00 per day. After care only, $15.00 per day. Before and After Care, $25.00 per day.
You must fill in the arrival & pick up time and the writing must be legible. If you leave the sign-in and/or out time blank you will be billed for extra care.
TUITION (per week) is $275 for 5 days; $252 for 4 days; $216 for 3 days; and $168 for 2 days. Pre-Registration and/or notification for additional days is required by the Tuesday prior to the week you wish your child to attend. If required prior registration/notice is not given there is a 10% charge to the weekly tuition cost.
A 10% discount applies to any additional family member(s).
Tuition is due upon registration for the weeks you are registered for. A $10 late fee will apply if not paid on time. SEVEN DAYS written notice is required for CANCELLATION along with a $40 cancellation fee. If you register & do not attend or give the required notice, you are responsible for the tuition. Tuition is not pro-rated due to absences or partial attendance. Please understand that the program is staffed according to projected number of enrolled children & staff is scheduled in advance and paid whether or not your child is in attendance.
PLEASE COMPLETE REGISTRATION AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. THE PROGRAM ONLY RUNS IF ENOUGH STUDENTS ARE SIGNED-UP
YOUR CHILD will need a change of clothing, a NUT FREE lunch, & sunscreen (not supplied by the program) EACH DAY. A refillable water bottle is recommended.
