Consider yourself at home with Oliver! JR., the Broadway Junior version of Lionel Bart's classic musical based on Charles Dickens' novel, Oliver Twist. The Tony and Olivier Award-winning show is one of the few musicals to win an Academy Award for Best Picture and is widely hailed as a true masterpiece by actors and audience members alike. Oliver! JR. is full of classic songs like Consider Yourself, Food Glorious Food, and Oom-Pah-Pah, and perfectly showcases the talents of a large ensemble cast.

This program is available to Swallow Union 4th graders

Audition/Start Date: April 11th

Audition Information: Everyone will audition with the same portion of a song from Oliver!, and audition sides(lines that different characters speak) will be prepared ahead of time so students can practice the speaking portion of their auditions for whichever characters they are interested in. All audition materials will be made available ahead of time. Auditions will begin promptly at 3:30 on April 11th. All who audition will be in the show! There will also be tech work available backstage for those students wishing to do tech instead of acting.

Rehearsals will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school (3:30pm) until 5:30pm. Actors should bring a nut-free snack. Principal actors will have additional rehearsals based on their schedules, and not every actor will need to attend every rehearsal. The schedule will be posted ahead of time. Tech week is the week before the show, and all actors will be required to attend all rehearsals that week. Extra rehearsals will be added for tech week, and will be posted on the schedule ahead of time. If actors need to miss rehearsals, the director will need to be informed ahead of time. Actors will be expected to follow the codes of conduct required of all students during the school day.

Performance Weekend: Friday, June 10th and Saturday, June 11th @ SU (3 performances: Friday @ 7pm ; Saturday @ 2pm and 7pm)
